Buying A Golden Retriever
When buying a golden retriever, a picture of the sire and dam should be made avaiable by the breeders.
People who would like a one-man dog are not recommended to buy a pet of this breed, because being very friendly and playful, these dogs form close bonds with the whole family and do not distinguish between friends and intruders. They will happily greet anyone coming in, but will warn the owner about it by loud barking. These dogs are very people-oriented; they should be kept together with the family, but not be relegated to the backyard and chained in the kennel. It’s bad for both their mental and physical health.

It is not recommended to purchase a purebred dog from the breeders who don’t have both the sire and the dam checked for typical diseases and certified. Reputable breeders certify all their dogs and sell the puppies with all necessary documents. The ideal time to bring a puppy into a new house is 8-10 weeks of age. If you take a smaller puppy, it will be difficult to socialize and train, but older puppies will be difficult to adapt to the new house as they’ve already got accustomed to their littermates.
